PC maker Lenovo has named a new CMO: Hewlett-Packard's David Roman.
Roman, the former vp-marketing communications for HP's personal systems group, starts March 29. He replaces Deepak Advani, who left Lenovo last year to return to IBM.
Prior to joining HP in 2006, Roman was vp-corporate and international marketing at
Nvidia. Before that, he held various marketing roles for Apple, including vp-worldwide advertising and brand marketing.
Lenovo, a Chinese company that bought IBM's PC group in 2004, spent $24 million on measured media in 2009, per the Nielsen Co. The brand's lead creative agency is Ogilvy, which launched a
new campaign for the ThinkPad Edge in January.
