Telemundo's
TV station group announced the launch of the first Spanish-language
news/entertainment iPhone apps.
The apps, powered by mobile partner LSN Mobile's Local Wireless
platform, are an extension of A La Mano, launched in 2007 to
deliver Web site content from the local stations to mobile users.
There are 9 iPhone apps, one for each Telemundo market including
Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, Miami, New York, San Jose, Houston,
Puerto Rico, and Phoenix.
All of the A La Mano content will be available on the iPhone app
including news, weather, sports, entertainment, slideshows,
high-quality video, lottery numbers and horoscopes.
"Once again, we are first to market with an innovative tool for our
'A la Mano' users," said Ronald Gordon, president of Telemundo TV
group.
"Research continues to indicate that mobile devices are a growing
communication platform for Hispanic consumers, and we are meeting
their desire for relevant content and information when and where
they want it to be."
